The interview process was straight forward. We answered a one way interview and then, got called in to do a practical/assessment where we got to learn more about the company and see if we’re a good fit for the role.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Madison Reed (Towson, MD) in May 2022
Interview
I would like to start this off by saying my interview with my district manager was amazing. I love her energy and I love her passion for the industry. I applied for this position understanding it’s roles, but with the intention to grow and explore my opportunities. Being that I am a Master Colorist I wanted to see what it would look like for myself and other Master Colorist maybe relocating from one state to another and wanted to be able to find a professional salon where we are valued for our knowledge, skill, and overall professionalism.
This is something that is challenging to find, in the interview it appears as if Madison Reed presents its self that way. But once you start the onboarding you realize the verbiage and language used during the hiring process becomes not so consistent with reality.
Unfortunately the staff that Madison Reed is attracting aren’t skilled in color at all. In no way shape or form. It’s color corrections, uneven tonal values, and overall un happy customers.
These first 2 weeks of training has been exhausting seeing how unhappy guests are with their end results. Sometimes company’s grow so fast because of VALUE they see from the Cosmetic Industry. If companies like Madison Reed hired passionate educated Cosmetologist and VAULED them by paying them what they are worth. This would definitely change the entire game for the Industry in the United States.

Interview process was very easy and straightforward; consisted of a wash and a blowout on a mannequin head. I am looking forward to starting with the company and learning how to do color.
