I came in 10 minutes early and told a worker that I was here for an interview. He notified the manager that I had arrived and I was told to take a seat in the store while I wait for him. I was sat for around 10 minutes until the manager came over to greet me. I shook his had immediately (always important to set a good first impression) and followed him to a closed off area. We sat down and the interview began. It was very casual, the manager was absolutely lovely and we had quite a bit in common. I made sure to tell him I was interested in progressing through the company, as they're looking for someone who'll stay with them for a while. I kept a smile on my face and tried my best to answer questions quickly. Be honest, but take initiative. If they ask you why you want to work here, don't flat out say you just want money. You want the experience working in a highly successful company, you want to help the company grow stronger, you'd find the fast paced environment beneficial for your own personal growth within the world of work. The interview lasted about 15 minutes, and then he took me behind the counter for an OJE. I was placed with a team member and was asked to call the customers over to the till. Make sure you're loud, but polite. Ask them how they are today. Its embarrassing, as a lot of the customers just want to order their food and don't care for small talk, but its just standard procedure. The OJE lasted for about 10 minutes until I was called back by the manager and asked if I had any questions. --> IT'S IMPORTANT TO ASK A QUESTION <-- It shows you're truly interested in working for them. I asked what kind of training opportunities they offer. Keep the questions relating to progression through the company. He took my uniform sizes (which is always a good sign) and told me he'd get back to me by Wednesday, as he had another two days worth of interviews. Turns out, he cut the interviews short and got back to me the very next day.
