Interview
Got a phone call a few days after I applied to set up an in-person interview. I arrived a few minutes early and an associate called for the manager, told me to wait by the door. I waited 25 minutes after the scheduled time before the manager approached me, asked my name, and then told me that she didn’t have any of my application materials on hand or know what I was applying for. She asked me to explain my qualifications and asked me about my customer service experience. After a 10 minute conversation, she made an offer of $14/hr, saying that “usually it’s only $13 an hour, but you seem qualified and we need people. We do request that you not discuss getting $14 because there are other employees here that aren’t getting that and have been here longer.” I declined the offer and was told Target pays well on my way out.
