Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn for an informational interview. I was moved along in the process after that initial conversation and sharing my resume. I interviewed with the hiring manager and was offered to move forward in the processes that same day. Two days later I interviewed with two key team members. About a week later I heard back from the recruiter saying I was “at the top of the list,” the other team members “had positive things to say” and they were trying to figure out if I should have a final round or if a decision would be made the following week. I had not heard from the recruiter so I reached out via email. I checked the link to the job posting, which had been taken down & knew it wasn’t a good sign. I received a generic rejection email even though my “qualifications were a strong match for the role,” which was extremely disappointing especially since the recruiter had called me with updates up until that point. It left a bad impression and no longer is a place I’d consider working.
