      Cashiering Duties; Customer Service Interview

      Nov 30, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Bloomington, IL
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Murphy USA (Bloomington, IL) in Jan 2015

      Interview

Standing in a freezing cold room for less than 5 minutes. It was extremely uncomfortable. If I had not 'needed' the position, I likely would have passed to be truthful about it. The store is very un-functional overall. I explained my physical limitations during the interview; all I kept reading following the hire were notes from the 'management' about what employees 'have' to do or they will be fired. I.e., shovel snow, I have a bad back and things break easily, I explained this during the interview process RE ability to deal with heavy things. The store manager had no issue; when it came to getting past the store itself, executive management passing down orders through computer processes was a total different thing. Store managers have absolute no ability to make decisions on their own regarding how 'their' store is managed. Should you interview for Murphy USA, what you are told during the interview if it comes from a regular store manager, do not take as the gospel. Only things from upper management are what is to be listened to as far as keeping your job. SAD Their turnover is amazingly high! Can't wonder why... And, lack of breaks, i.e., employment law, is a foreign concept to these employers.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Have you done this before. How soon can you start. What hours can you work. When can you take a urine screen?
