Was contacted by the recruiter to schedule a call. It was really lovely conversation and I was told I'd progress to the next step. A couple weeks later, I spoke with the hiring manager. They decided to go forward with other candidates, but instead of sending me the usual "thanks, but no" the recruiter reached out to call me. I appreciated that so much.
