Saw a Job posting on LinkedIn by a VP of Nomura, and without thinking for a sec, send my CV to the VP.
The VP gave me a call, and asked basic questions like total work exp, type of wirk that i have done in the current firm, role, accomplishments, etc.
The telephonic interview lasted for 20 minutes, and unsurprisingly, the next day i had a mail from their HR that a F2F interview had been scheduled after a week.
As i already knew, courtesy of some frnds already working in NOmura, that they aint so strong on technical side and are bit slow in assimilating new technologies in to their firm. i was pretty relaxed for the interview.
The only preparation i did was to brush up some basic concepts on .NET, OOPS, C#, SQL Server.
On the day of the interview, the staff were nice but pretty rigid. ( they lacked manners).
I was asked to sit in a meeting room. After some time, two ppl entered .
One was the VP and the other i guess, was a Manager or some Sr. team member.
The questions they asked were pretty crap.
But i was amazed by their emphasis on correct syntax.
I was given different scenarios and was asked to write the exact syntax.
on the database side, there were a few questions on Joins, indexes , triggers, etc.
Overall, a pretty decent interview.
AS i was leaving the Nomure premises, the HR called me up and said the interview went good & they shall get in touch with me shortly.
Waited for 3 weeks but no calls or mail.
Frustrated, i drooped a mail to the VP , he said that he was impressed with me & that they would make an offer shortly.
Waited for another 2 weeks, but nothing.
Again dropped a mail to the VP, who then forwarde it the HR, the HR then replied back saying that they will be making an offer soon.
Its nearly a month now, but there hasnt been any communication from them till date.
Pretty pathetic & to think that they project themselves as an extemely professional firm.
