I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at OutSystems
Interview
The recruiter reached out to me. There were 7 interviews in total, including a panel presentation. Communication was subpar and process took too long. The presentation took a substantial effort to prepare for, talking about 60-80 hours of work. Feedback was positive and the word offer was mentioned. Then, I was ghosted for weeks. When I finally reached out, the response was "oh yeah, we decided to pass". The reason was a bit unclear and related to something they knew from my profile before even contacting me. I know someone from my network who had exactly the same recruiting experience, went through all the stages, even the feedback was the same. The position stayed opened for months. Even after someone (who didn't quite match the written job requirements) appeared to be hired. I will not recommend going through this process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
At times the questions felt more like gathering competitive information.
The presentation felt like free labor and idea generation.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at OutSystems in Feb 2025
Interview
The recruiter reached out directly to set up a screening call. The call was not difficult but rather disorganized. There was little information on the role and ambiguity about what their ideal candidate looked like. After two self-imposed deadlines came and went for the recruiter to follow up with scheduling next steps, I was ghosted.
Upon further research with those who are with and have been with OutSystems, I can confidently say I dodged a bullet with this company. Ensure you receive answers during the process about the role within the greater context/strategy of OutSystems. The answer(s) should be telling.

Tell me about yourself and other non-specific "get to know you" questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at OutSystems (Washington, DC) in Apr 2023
Interview
Not sure about the interview process. I only had a bad experience with a leader in recruiting , that was rude and disrespectful. She interrupted me multiple times and left a bad taste in the company for sure. If this is insight into the culture, I am glad I only wasted less than 10 minutes of my time.

Question 1
Just a bunch of bullet-pointed recruiting questions that just kept coming with no intent of listening to my answers.

Interview
I applied via Outsystems and went through 7h of interviews before being ghosted.
Outsystems were very pushy in the early stage of the interview process, asking for conversations with multiple people at very short timeframe. Feedback on interviews was very good, unfortunately I was then suddenly ghosted, with no reply to follow-up messages.
This is a disrespectful practice that reflects poorly on the way people are treated when investing time with you.
There are other similar reviews which would suggest that Outsystems need to look into their process and sort it out.
