      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Pager Health (New York, NY) in Mar 2023

      Interview

My interview lasted less than 2 minutes after I realized the job had been grossly misrepresented. The job posting I'd responded to made it sound like this was a midwestern office with an offshore team in Brazil. That would mean my 8am was their 11am, very doable, good overlap for collaboration. The hours were advertised at 8-5 M-F. It was in fact a New York office with a team in India. I'd need to get up at 4 or 5 am to have any hope of having good overlap and rapport with the team. 4am is a big deal to a lot of people, and this expectation needed to be shared in the job posting. There's no way that this can be done working 8-5 Central, it just can't be done. The team in India is 10 and a half hours ahead! The person who interviewed with me was incredibly hard to schedule with, as well, and I got the impression they thought I was being pointlessly difficult by asking for an interview after I'd finished working for the day. In retrospect, I think they were potentially trying to hide that this company works very, very early hours and a normal afternoon time was long after they'd turned off their computer, and I was asking to interview at nearly their bedtime. Honesty in the job posting would have wasted a lot less time and gotten them more candidates who could meet their needs. They need to be upfront about what the job really entails.
