Interview
I was reached out to by the technical recruiter for this position, I went through an extensive interview process (5 interviews and a presentation). I was told after the presentation that I did not receive the position because the Chief Product Officer felt that I didn’t have any experience working with developers and engineers all because my organization structure product under IT. So she took that has me working for IT support and not a product manager that worked with engineering. I spent 5 interviews explaining all my experience with engineering, how I’ve worked with scrum teams, managed backlogs, refinements, stories, etc. I had team members who I was interviewed say they can’t wait for me to join the team. But instead of clarifying and discussing this with everyone, the CPO made the executive decision of not going with me over a misunderstanding. I wasted a lot of time, and maybe for the best. But don’t make the same mistake as me and waste your time. There are much companies with much better leaders out there. And leaders who listen to their team. And the team that interviewed me was amazing, and ultimately it was up to leader of that team to make the final decision and unfortunately I was not given an offer because of her. Everything happens for a reason. I asked this company not ever reach out to me again about future opportunities.
