I applied directly on the company’s website on in early May.
In late May, I received an email from an internal recruiter to set up a phone screening.
During the screening, the recruiter discussed what the company’s culture and values are all about and discussed the position at a high level. The recruiter passed my resume along during the screening and set up an interview with two senior management level members of the accounting department in mid June.
I interviewed both for a little over an hour. During the interview, we walked through my resume, and they asked me about my leadership style and grilled me on a couple of technical accounting matters. At the end of the interview, the VP let me know I’ll have another round of interviews with the segment controllers and the tax director in late June.
I had a panel-style interview with the three of them. This interview lasted for about an hour as well. This was more of a vibe/culture check than anything else. They wanted to know how I would work along side them, so they asked why I want to be in this role, what my strengths are, and the type of leadership skills I displayed throughout my career.
A few hours after that interview, I got the congratulatory interview with the offer letter.
