      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Perficient (Livonia, MI) in Jul 2024

      Interview

Interview "process" was from February to August 2024. This started as a sit down with the hiring manager in person, then a couple weeks later I met with 2 "company leaders". Then I was informed that there was no longer an approved position open. That was fine, as I was not at all in a hurry. About a month later I met with another "leader" who was extremely enthusiastic. All of these went well but were all focused on management style, experience, and were more like round table discussions than an interview. Didn't hear back for another month and then was informed that the company was going private and that needed to happen before any offers could be extended (since it impacted compensation). Again, not in a hurry but have never had a process that lasted this long. Another month and I find out that the hiring manager was let go but that I was the first person they wanted to talk to so I was asked to meet again with the regional leader. Again went well but then I was asked to do a technical interview. I am fine with that but that could have happened anytime over the last 5 months, I have the tech interview with 2 other "Directors". They ask ONE question that could be classified as technical, it was scheduled for 60 minutes but I was asked to stay for 90 because BOTH interviewers left during the interview at different times (again I have never experienced anything like that). Every indication was that it was a success. Then a week later I get a call from the recruiter that they are looking for someone more hands on. I asked tor more feedback and to talk to the new hiring manager but was told he was really busy but the recruiter would ask, That was weeks ago and no contact. Everyone will have their own opinion and experience but I found this company and it's process to be convoluted, disheveled, disjointed and lacking any leadership. I did not receive an offer but after this experience I would have had to be very desperate to accept one if I did. STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Technical interview was again just experience. The one technical question I was asked after I said I was comfortable with SQL but was not with joins was "What types of joins are you aware of?"
