      Operations Interview

      Feb 18, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Quizlet (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Loved all the conversations I had so it is unfortunate that the recruiting experience was so poor. Had a first round interview with the hiring manager that went well and was invited to come onsite for half a day of interviews. Everyone I talked to was smart and had great things to say about the company. There was one interview that was a little strange in format; interviewer didn't ask me anything and the whole interview was supposed to be me asking questions, but I enjoyed all the conversations overall. At the end of the onsite I was told that I would be hearing back shortly. I followed up with the recruiter afterwards with a thank you note, and then didn't hear back for another week. Reached out to the recruiter for an update and didn't even get a response. Received a generic automated rejection email THREE weeks later with some grammatical errors. It is fine to reject applicants, but after they've invested so much time into your recruiting process, I feel that they at least deserve to hear back in a reasonable time frame.

      Interview

After having scheduled and confirmed an onsite interview with me, the recruiter canceled the calendar event without comment. The company then ignored my emails for several days and then finally less than 24 hours before my interview, they told me they were canceling my interview because they gave the job to someone last week and forgot to tell me. There were other issues throughout the process, but this was the most ridiculous.

      Application

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Quizlet (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Initial phone interview, followed by a coffee chat and office tour and a third interview with three people (separately) whom I would be working with/under. Everyone had some generic question, so I answered a few things twice, but overall it was a really positive experience. I feel like they are looking for the best people for any given position and the interview length and number of communications reflected this.
