Interview
I submitted an application for a role that was advertised as remote within the USA. I heard back fairly quickly with an invitation to complete a phone screening. The call went great and the recruiter confirmed where I lived and that I was fine with remote work. However, they later stated during the call they would need to confirm with the hiring manager that the role could be based in my state and not where Scale's HQ is located. Big red flag. Why interview someone without confirming first where you're authorized to hire? To no surprise I received an email two days later stating the hiring manager wants someone who can come in office. My time was completely wasted by someone who likely just needed to meet their metrics for interviews.

They conducted six rounds of interviews and a take home assignment just to send an automated rejection email.
The recruiter was really persistent about getting availability for scheduling interviews but would take days to get back to questions over email.
The people all seemed very nice, but they don’t have a lot of organizational structure or defined roles. I would not apply here again.
