I applied through other source. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2018
Interview
I got the interview by reaching out to the direct superior of the position. He called me in, invited a director to participate who had a similar position opened. Questions were basic, mostly about my background. I went prepared to the interview to display how my past experience related to the job posting, as I had never worked in the financial industry before.
I was invited to continue in the process, had another 2 interviews, the last one with the VP.
Important to notice that between the first and second interview there was a 5 week hiatus and because of the long wait I reached out to the interviewer for some feedback which seemed to kick things of again.

Deceptive Candidate Pipeline Management – Req 254433
Cleared the intensive final panel interview for this Senior Manager role and was placed 'Under Consideration.' A month later, HR sent an official update stating the process was 'still ongoing' and explicitly requested my continued patience. Was left completely in limbo for another two months, only receiving a generic rejection template after I directly demanded a concrete status update. The recruiter claimed they moved forward with 'another candidate' (singular), despite the live public posting still actively advertising two available seats. This is highly unprofessional pipeline management. It treats vetted, senior-level candidates who passed the panel stage as free corporate insurance while background checks clear for other hires. If a seat is closed or budget is cut, HR should be transparent instead of using deceptive stall tactics to freeze talent in their tracking system.
Really friendly call with someone from HR. Nothing too complex but they have a keen interest on key accomplishments and team work. They will get back to you with an update making you feel optimistic, but then a generic decline letter is provided several weeks later.
