Interview
I arranged to see the branch manager of the store via email recruitment process. When I had my interview it was with a Dispensing Optician who was part of the management team. There was no explanation of why I wasn't seeing the branch manager which I felt was rude. The person interviewing is going to another branch anyway and so I didn't feel there was much point in her interviewing me. I was told if I was successful that I would probably need a 2nd interview with the store manager!
I was asked a few questions and I asked some back. The job advertised was for experienced optical assistant, however the job that was being interviewed for was a clerical optical assistant, i.e. managing clinics not dispensing glasses. I felt this was wrongly advertised and felt my knowledge would be suitable elsewhere in the store. I have yet to hear back from them but if I do then I will decline.
It seems a chaotic way of working and pointless way to interview someone.

Name a time when you went out of your way to give good customer service?
Brief interview, mainly was asked about previous jobs and why I wanted to work for Specsavers. The atmosphere wasn't tense, so I felt comfortable instead of on edge as I usually did with the interviews.

Interview
Was invited to the managers office where I was interviewed by the manager and store supervisor.
They were polite and properly invested in the interview. Only complaint I had is it took way too long for them to get back to me with the results of the interview. And with how it was handled I have a feeling that they were waiting for a specific person to show up whom they already decided would be hired prior to the interview process.
