The interview process was ridiculous. I applied online for a Store Manager role. I had a missed call 2 days later from their recruitment team. I called back and spent about 2 weeks chasing the recruiter. Apparently only 1 recruiter can’t talk to you. I emailed back and forth to arrange an interview. I gave dates I could make within the email and then I was advised that I would have to speak to someone before they would allow me to be put forward for the interview even though the original email gave me the impression that I was getting an interview. Then I got a voicemail telling me the recruiters work hours to call the next day. The next day I got an email out with those hours from the same person telling the job had been filled! I may add, on a separate occasion, I also walked out of an interview before it even started as they were very unprofessional and made me wait for nearly 30mins over my interview start time. I asked when I would be seen (I have a life and commitments) and they rudely said “they know you’re here”. At that time they weren’t actively interviewing anyone-just making me wait. To be fair, it’s my own fault applying because I have worked for Specsavers before and left due to a toxic work environment and an insufferable culture. I don’t know why I apply to them. I won’t be applying again.
