Unfortunately I had a similar experience to another candidate who interviewed for this same position and posted a review, so I am assuming they were interviewed by the same person. The recruiter first contacted me to schedule a phone interview, which was a series of questions you would normally receive in an interview regarding prior work experience, why you would want to work for the company, etc. At the end of this call, he stated I would be contacted if they wanted me to come in for an in-person interview. I received an email a day after, asking if I would do another phone interview with the hiring manager.
This phone interview unfortunately was an unpleasant experience. I was being asked the same questions as I had been asked by the recruiter for that phone interview, and she was disinterested and impersonal before the call even began as if they already had a candidate selected. My interviewer also emphasized the importance of certain skills that conflicted with statements the recruiter made. I too shared the sentiment that if you expressed wanting to grow with the company, for whatever reason that seems to be a negative thing. By the end of the call, I unfortunately knew I did not want to work for this company.
Thanks for your feedback on your recent phone interview. We're really sorry to hear your experience was negative. We take all candidate feedback seriously and have already discussed with our team in order to improve future interview experiences. We wish you the best of luck in your job search.
I submitted an application and was contacted about 1 week later for a phone interview. The phone interview felt pointless to me because the person I talked with only said "OK" in response to any of my answers and did not engage in the conversation at all. She sounded really bored with even the beginning questions (Who are you, why SpareFoot, etc.) After about 3 questions, she told me that I was "too high level and ambitious" for this role and that they were looking for people who didn't want to grow on the team. I couldn't believe that a representative from a fast-paced start-up would say something like that. She then encouraged me to apply for a higher level position, which I did, and was promptly rejected from with no explanation. Just seemed like the interviewer didn't want to talk with me in the first place, which, if so, why reach out for a phone interview at all?

Question 1
Why are you interested in this role? (but honestly she barely asked me any questions).
Thank you for your candid feedback as our recruiting team is always looking to improve our interview process. It sounds like you were a very strong potential candidate, but because this is entry level, the salary and scope of role was not a good match. We are sorry we could not find an immediate fit for you and your background. We hope you will continue to follow our openings and apply to future roles that might be a better fit. Thanks again!
I applied for a client position at Sparefoot I clearly have 3+ years experience doing something similar to the position posted. Less than 24 hours after submitting my application I got a no-reply e-mail back stating that we reviewed your background and qualifications, but we don't have any appropriate positions for you at this time.
Not convinced they actually reviewed my application as with some of these more entry level positions in Austin they usually end hiring people purely around nepotism.

Question 1
If you spent more time accurately recruiting talent as you did on your "creative" hiring video I think it would be more of a positive long term contribution to your company.
We appreciate your feedback and are always looking to improve! We work very hard to provide a quick response to our candidates, so I can understand how you may have felt it was faster than expected. However, please be assured that although we did not have a fit for your skill set this round, we certainly did review your qualifications and appreciate your interest in our company. With our growth comes new opportunities that could be a better match, so we hope you will continue to review our future openings. Thanks again!
