I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Stripe (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2024
Interview
Interview process was abysmal, was referred to the role and was given an interview immediately based on my extensive experience, had the interview set for monday at 2:30pm to which the recruiter did not show up for even though I emailed twice to let her know I was waiting (once at 2:35 and another at 3pm). Messaged my referee to ping the recruiter and recruiter made up an excuse to us both an hour and a half after our scheduled time saying she called me but wasn't able to get through (a lie). Said she could do the next day 3:30pm which I agreed to and then at 5:45 pm after work hours she tells me her 3:30 slot got booked up and to do Wednesday (wtf?) to which she still does not confirm a time until I ask her twice times to confirm that 2:30 on Wednesday works.
Wednesday comes along and she is 10 mins late to the interview, has me explain my experience and background and tells me that although she doesn't have my resume in front of her (again, wtf?), I'm not the right fit for the role, that my referee did not understand the job requirements, that it is a technical role (though it says this nowhere on the job posting), and that she is a technical recruiter and that I should apply to another role at Stripe that would be a better fit but that she cannot provide any assistance since she is "just a contractor."
She wasted hours of my time that I had booked off to chat with her just to let me know I wasn't the right fit, then why select me for an interview? Just an all around terrible at her job and drove away an experienced professional, senior consultant candidate in the consulting world. Just atrocious, severely disappointed in the interview process. The company is clearly great, but they need consulting services to overhaul their abysmal hiring practices...
Rating interview difficulty as "very difficult" just because of how hard it was to reach the recruiter in the first place.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Stripe (New York, NY) in May 2025
Interview
I was brought back for a total of 3 rounds one which included a Broken API exercise.
Round 1 with HR routine questions regarding experience and why I wanted to work at Stripe.
Round 2 Hiring manager in-depth overview of the role and team, reviewed my experience with API's and talked through the new product.
Round 3 with team member .Broken API technical walk through and Q&A about the org and team
Everyone I met with seemed to be smart , knowledgeable about the company and very open about the challenges. The process was very positive until I was ghosted by HR. After a week of waiting on feedback I sent a follow up email and never received a reply back. No response is a response. It's very unprofessional when a candidate goes through multiple rounds and is ignored. Its ok if the role is better suited for someone else but to not even get a response is truly disrespectful
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stripe (Singapore) in Sep 2024
Interview
Sent an application and was asked to arrange for an interview. Recruiter responded with a set time to do the interview, but called it off last minute stating that he was sick. After which, I tried to follow up but got ghosted.
