      Agent Interview

      Nov 8, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Coralville, IA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at TLCx (Coralville, IA) in Oct 2013

      Interview

I applied online from a referral by a current employee. I heard back the next day, not even 12 hours from the time that I applied. I set up my interview. After signing in, they have you take a short, 14 "question" long test on a computer that tests your knowledge of what the icons on a computer are (i.e. the "Start" button, the "Refresh" button, etc.). You have to score at least a 12 to pass. If you fail it, you do not go on with the interview. Once you have completed the test successfully, you go up to the call floor and "buddy listen" to live calls with an agent for about 15 minutes. When the interviewer comes back to get you, she asks if it is something that you seem interested in doing. At this point, you can decline going any further in the interview if you feel working in a call center might not be for you. If you decide to go on, you go downstairs into the interview room. She will ask you pretty simple questions such as: What are 3 reasons I should hire you? What would your managers at your previous/current job say about you if I called and talked to them? What does accountability mean to you? How many days in the last year would you say you have missed that you were scheduled to work? What would you say is an acceptable amount of days to be absent from your scheduled shift? What does being a professional mean to you? What do you feel is your strongest trait? What do you feel is your weakest trait? After she has completed the question portion of the interview, she will have you read off three paragraphs of a script from the campaign you will be working in. If she thinks that your pronunciation, word flow, volume, and ability to read the script in full without omitting any words, she will tell you not to re-read the script. (I'm not entirely sure what happens if you have to read it twice as I only had to do it one time.) After you read the script and she decides you should be hired, she will discuss your schedule. What days you can work, what days you have off, etc. There are several different schedules, but your days off will always be right in a row. Once you have decided on a schedule and she informs you when your training class begins, one of two things will happen. Either you will stay and fill out employment forms to consent to a background check and drug screening, and set up a time to go do the drug test. Or, you will set up a day to come in and do all of that before your training class begins.
