The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TP ICAP in Nov 2022
Interview
🚩🚩🚩Very Sketchy Company - Avoid !!
A recruitment company contacted me about this role and it seemed like the perfect role with an attractive salary and benefits package. Recruiter then told me the company had decided to take someone internally for the role before reviewing my CV.
2 days later the same recruiter reposts the same role on (NI) Jobs. But another recruitment company contacted me about the same role, I explained what the prior recruiter had told me and they said the role was still very much vacant. So they put me forward.
I had a teams interview which I felt went really well and got good feedback from, I was then asked to attend a second stage interview (in person) which I agreed to. This interview also went well and was not really about the role, was more about me and my career to date. There were more red flags when asked about the day to day duties of the role and where the role would sit within in team, the answers were wishy washy and they said there was a new Manager starting and basically it would be up to them. (Why are you recruiting for this role when you do not know what the main day-to-day duties will be?)
I got word back that I was unsuccessful as they had taken another candidate with more experience which seemingly didn’t exist before I went for my interview and that this applicant had applied direct to the company rather than through an agency. (TP ICAP advertised the role direct on LinkedIn after my second interview was scheduled which I felt was a red flag after being told they really liked me after the first interview)
The overall recruitment process felt uneasy.
Feedback works both ways, and I do think TP ICAP need to be honest with their recruiters and potential employees as this is one of their core values along with integrity, which hasn’t reflected well from my point of view.
In short if something seems to good to be true - it most likely is!!
