HORRENDOUS Recruiting Experience!
Tesla wasted time and effort across nearly 7 months! Tesla ghosted a candidate they offered a job to.
Recruiter Screen November 2019, and the final conversation the VP of Global Supply Management was March 2020. After finalizing salary and RSUs, they delayed submitting an official offer (citing covid). After months of silence the informed me the requisition was "paused" in June 2020. Four weeks later they reposted the position, and I was ghosted upon contacting both the hiring manager AND the recruiter.
Thoughtless recruiting, much like Tesla's approach to customer experience.

Question 1
How would you approach the cost breakdown for a plastic drinking cup?
Not sure if it is just me but I have interviewed with Tesla for 2 roles with 3 different people and none of them turn their cameras ON for a virtual interview. The questions are simple enough but as a candidate, I am supposed to keep the camera ON. A person adjusts to facial clues to understand how the conversation is going and change the pace/diection of their answers, here its nothing. If I have to share the answers to blank space I'll just talk to AI at this point or "this interview can be an email." Even the interviewers sounds clueless when they are asked questions, its just a numbers process, and I feel so annoyed by it.
