I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Hanford, CA) in Mar 2014
Interview
I had to apply online and got a phone call from corporate for a short phone interview. They asked me about why I wanted to work there and what I did in my past jobs, then before the phone interview was over (5 minutes) they scheduled me for an in-store interview with the store manager about 4 days after the phone call. In-person interview was short and basic. Lasted about 20 minutes. Asking me questions like "Why do you want to work here?" "How can you improve home depot?"

Interview
All and all The Home Depots process is systematic. First you apply online, then you are called for a phone screening most of which are yes or no answers, If you pass that then you move on to a in person interview that in my case was set up by the hiring manager at the home depot I applied for, pass that and you just need to pass a drug screen and its all good from there.
Now for personal details unique to my experience, I got there about fifteen minutes early, expecting to speak with the hiring manager but instead I ended up speaking to the general manager who was incredibly nice. In fact nothing he said sounded like he was simply towing a company line, no, he seemed genuinely happy, as did most people in the store, and his words seemed sincere, usually you can tell when people aren't happy or going through the motions, I didn't see any of that while I was there.
I got an offer on the spot contingent on the results of a drug screen, honestly, until the interview I was skeptical about working at the place, didn't think id like it too much. I was pleasantly surprised and I think I may take it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The one that sticks in my mind was, what, if any, is a fear you think you'll be challenged with and/or overcome working here. I remember it because I think it was the closest thing to a thinker/curve ball kind of question I got, the rest were pretty standard, just a heads up.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at The Home Depot
Interview
The interviews were pretty abrupt and only consisted of a few questions. They mainly asked about my personal life more than anything. I was asked why Home Depot and what skills I had that I could use to move up in rank and that was about it. They then did a background check and two days later that went through so they called me back to take a urinalysis which took another week and a half.

I filled out an online application and was later contacted by a automated phone system to see if I was still interested. Later connected with a person who scheduled an interview. Actual interview lasted 20 mins with questions about possible scenarios about other employees an customer problems.
