I hated everything about this interview process. A month after applying, after completing multiple online tests to “evaluate my competency”, after completing multiple AI video interviews, after completing a 2 hour take home assignment- to get a rejection after not even talking to a single person from the company is abysmal! The interview process is a two-way process and the whole experience of “interviewing” with Toggl gave me no indication of whether I actually want to work for the company. Another thing to note is that I actually spent 2 hours on the take home assignment because I couldn’t provide any more time towards it due to being in full-time employment. The work I produced was exploratory and showcased my design process but, after getting rejected, it’s clear that all they wanted to see was pixel-perfect wireframes: which is not indicative at all to the day-to-day of the role. I’m sick of being advantage of in scammy and unbalanced interview processes. Toggl do better!

Interview
Is not a traditional recruiting process.
1. First you take a multiple option test which is available online with general questions about design, you know immeadiately if you passed, if you did you go to next round.
2. You have to record yourself answering some questions (async interview)
3. Home assignment. You have 2 hours to redesign something from the product, and then record a quick loom video explaining your solution. Once you click on the task the timer starts so it's stressful but good because it's focused work with limited time.
4. You have an interview with another designer and a PM, general questions about your work, experience and go in depth in one of your portfolio projects.
5. Test week. You get an assignment and you can collaborate with other designers and PM through slack, pretty good to get a feel about the company.
6. Cultural fit interview with HR
