Toggl Senior Product Designer interview questions

I really appreciated the hiring process at Toggl. It was well-structured, efficient, and thoughtful. It provided a great opportunity to showcase my skills while also assessing if the company was the right fit for me. The HR team was very responsive, keeping me updated almost every week, so there were no prolonged waiting periods or uncertainty. My hiring process took approximately two months and involved multiple stages: - Automated test: This also included some open-ended questions, and you immediately receive an overall score along with a pass/no-pass decision for the next round. - Asynchronous screening: Answering a few cultural and behavioral questions on camera through their system. - Home assignment: I had one week to submit the task, but unlike other home assignments, this one was timed. Once you open the brief, you only have 2 hours to complete and submit it, ensuring no extra time is spent. The task involved identifying, prioritizing, and solving a problem within their product, and you must record and submit your solution within the given timeframe. - Technical interview with the Design Lead and PM: This stage included behavioral and technical questions, particularly about collaboration and communication, as well as a discussion on my home assignment proposals. - Test week: A paid test week working on real design challenges within the company alongside potential team members, culminating in a final presentation. - Job offer Thanks to the multiple stages and the level of involvement, I gained a clear reinforcement about why I wanted to work in Toggl and I happily accepted the offer.

I hated everything about this interview process. A month after applying, after completing multiple online tests to “evaluate my competency”, after completing multiple AI video interviews, after completing a 2 hour take home assignment- to get a rejection after not even talking to a single person from the company is abysmal! The interview process is a two-way process and the whole experience of “interviewing” with Toggl gave me no indication of whether I actually want to work for the company. Another thing to note is that I actually spent 2 hours on the take home assignment because I couldn’t provide any more time towards it due to being in full-time employment. The work I produced was exploratory and showcased my design process but, after getting rejected, it’s clear that all they wanted to see was pixel-perfect wireframes: which is not indicative at all to the day-to-day of the role. I’m sick of being advantage of in scammy and unbalanced interview processes. Toggl do better!
