I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Triplebyte (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
The process has 3 major stages:
1. Quizzes and Coding Challenge- the first level of the interview process (that anyone who signs up for TripleByte is able to take) is two knowledge quizzes and a coding challenge. One of the quizzes is about 15 or so basic coding problems in a variety of languages that test your general coding knowledge. Only a few of the harder questions require specific language knowledge. The other quiz is a dozen system design questions. This one is definitely the harder of the two. Then there's a 1hr coding challenge that tests your ability to attack a bigger problem. You can do this in JS, Python or Ruby (I think).
2. 45 min Technical Screen- if you pass the initial stage, you'll be asked to participate in a technical interview over Google Hangouts. The first ten minutes will be used to discuss your background and a project you recently worked on. The last 35 minutes will be used for a coding challenge. You can choose to do one of three challenges in the language of your choice in your own dev environment. Your interviewer will be able to view your work over screen-share. Expect to explain what you're doing as you're doing it.
3. 2hr Technical Screen- If you pass the first technical screen, you'll be invited to either come in for an interview (in their downtown SF office) or have another Google Hangout. Either way it'll be the same 2hr interview (I chose to do it in person). The first hour will be a coding challenge similar to what you did in the last phase, however it will be an hour long and you'll get to choose from four categories (front-end, generalist, algorithms, hard-core CS). The second hour will comprise of three 15 minute questions or challenges, at least one of which will be a system design question. You'll be asked to talk through how you would design a particular system, and asked about different trade offs or decisions you would have to make. One of the questions could also be a short coding challenge where you would have to write a short method or something in fewer than 15 minutes.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given a string of numbers, you can interpolate basic operations (+, -, * and /) to create an equation that can be evaluated using simple math. Given a string of numbers and a value, write a method that prints all of the equations that can be generated using that string that evaluate to the given value.
ex- f("323",3) will print out "3 * 2 - 3"
Fill out quiz and then taking coding interview. Fully automated followed by connects you to companies to have further discussions and further technical interviews. Very straightforward process. Accepted offer from one of the companies i interviewed with.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Triplebyte
Interview
Skipped straight to onsite because of Triplebyte profile.
Onsite was very organized. Three coding challenges (frontend, backend, CLI game), one architecture, one product, one leadership. Respectful and well managed overall. Pretty hard tech interviews.

Question 1
Build command-line Tetris in the language of your choice (scoped down for the interview, not the full game of course)
