      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Triplebyte (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

I was contacted by the recruiter and the team was pretty flexible in accommodating my schedule for the interviews on my timeline. Part 1: Phone screen with Hiring Manager Part 2: Onsite Interview ( Broken into 4 1/2 hours at their HQ) The onsite was 4ish hours long with lunch included. The minute I walked into this office I knew it wasn't a culture fit for me. The office had no life. It's true you get a better understanding when you visit the office in person. I walked in and I recognized the HR I was working with all the scheduling. She saw me, but didn't greet me? Um hello?? Walked up to her, and she was whispering to me. I was baffled. Seemed like she was scared to make conversations. And then I got ushered into a conference room to get started. Layout for the 4ish hours: 1) Introductions with leadership 2) Design problem working session (what irked me is that they made this instead of brainstorming for a general product scenario, the session was centered around solving for their product - big no!) 3) Visual design speed exercise 4) Presenting the visual design exercise 5) Product, Engineering team conversations. Takeaways: After speaking with the team, there seemed to be a clear leadership tension in how the departments operated. The people I spoke to seemed nice. But they are way too picky.
