Brief phone call, somewhat informal with some canned questions. Discussed background, vaguely what the role is/would be, since it would require a lot of context switching and helping screen and route candidates to appropriate companies.
While the conversation was positive and enjoyable, what I found striking was that I never heard back - whether I was declined or would be moving forward. I had a good feeling at the end of the call that I wouldn't be moving forward, based upon the tone, but was told we'd be in touch. The reason this was shocking was because this is a company solely based on recruiting talent. I wasn't important or impressing enough to be kept in the loop, but that's something they may want to think deeply about if they don't even respond to internal candidates.
