I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tully Rinckey PLLC (Albany, NY) in Jul 2021
Interview
I applied online for a position that didn’t have a specific firm. I was contacted by a recruiter, who spoke to me about my experience and said he’d provide a list of local firms that might fit for me, but Tully Rinckey was the one he was mostly pushing and he set up an interview for me with the managing partner. The interview was about 45 minutes to an hour, and mostly consisted of the managing partner explaining the type of work they did and asking me some questions about myself. It felt more like an informational interview about the job than an hard-hitting interview about myself. By the end of the interview, managing partner implied I’d likely be offered the job, but just needed to complete a writing exercise first. Exercise was was not too time-consuming, just 3-4 hours and a good introduction to the type of work I’d be doing. A few days later, I got a call from the CEO to offer me the position, and a salary $10K higher than I asked for in the interview. From submitting the online application to getting the offer only took two weeks.
