Interview
The interview process consists of three rounds: a recruiter screening, a technical interview, and a behavioral/cultural fit interview. The first round is a 30-45 minute call with HR, where they discuss my resume, salary expectations, and availability. The second round is a technical interview with the hiring manager and engineers, where I am tested on Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines, including a live coding or troubleshooting session. The final round is a behavioral interview with senior managers, where I discuss past projects, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. If successful, they proceed with the offer and background check.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about troubleshooting Kubernetes pods stuck in CrashLoopBackOff and how to resolve deployment failures in a production environment. They were interested in my approach to debugging, checking logs, verifying resource limits, and optimizing configurations for high availability. Another key topic was Terraform and how it helps maintain infrastructure consistency, detect drift, and automate recovery processes. They also asked about scaling strategies, CI/CD pipeline optimizations, and handling security best practices in cloud environments.

Interview
I believe it was important to give feedback to everyone, I have applied for the position and have 3 technical rounds. The whole process took more than ~1.5 months. I need to constantly chase every week about the status or the next update but finally, HR said the position is closed now. As a candidate your energy, emotions everything vanished.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2019
Interview
I received 9 hours' notice for a 6am flight to my interview during finals week. Interviewers were unfriendly and made rude comments about my lack of experience despite having my resume before the interview. After traveling 1,000 miles round-trip in one day, United ghosted me. I have never heard a word from anyone, even the recruiter. I never received travel reimbursement forms. The job title was changed to "Senior Devops Engineer" a week later.
