This interview process was honestly embarrassing on their part.. I was told in my initial interview that I was applying for a spot in Entertainment costuming that was full time, only to come to find out at the end of the second interview that it was for operations costuming and for part time on three specific days of the week! This role also required a skills assessment, and I was told explicitly what it would entail (a zipper, a sleeve hem, and a belt buckle). When I went to take the assessment, it was two zippers, a blind hem, and a maternity panel! I was not given the proper tools to execute adding a maternity panel into a pair of pants, the blind hem machine was broken (I was still expected to do that part of the assessment and yes, they knew it was broken), and I was told the other wardrobe fabricators would be around to help me. While they were physically present, they were incredibly rude and ignored me whenever I had questions.
The hiring manager also only asked personality questions during the second interview ("how do you deal with difficult people in the workplace" and "how would you handle needing to tell someone else on the team with more experience than you that they were doing something incorrectly") which was a red flag, especially then going and meeting the team. It was obvious these questions were asked because the team itself was difficult to get along with. During my second interview, I also asked the recruiter how specific core values of the company were upheld in her specific workplace, and she couldn't answer my question, which was pretty awkward. Overall, the interviews themselves were easy, even if the job I applied for wasn't what the interview was for, but the skills assessment was a mess, and it felt like I was set up to fail.
