Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We have a very thorough interview process with multiple steps. The initial questions you reference are in place to first learn and get a sense of what skill levels and background you possess. We only hire top players so this is designed to determine early in the process if someone has the requirements to be successful on our growing team. We’re sorry to hear this initial step of the experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and we wish you the best going forward in your job search!

      Interview

Initial interview was scheduled via email with lots of questions to answer. At the initial in-person interview, the President requested to create and design an email to capture the audience with a landing page just to get my skills ability and "thought" process for the 2nd interview with the Marketing/Sales team. It was an odd request, more like a suspicion, like they are shoplifting for free work. Neverless, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, provided them basic email marketing skills to satisfy their request and test suspicious curiosity if they were just looking to freeload off my ideas, work, and time. There are a lot of employees that steal from candidate's work without giving them a fair opportunity.

      Question 1

Interview questions weren't questions about the candidate but more fishing and pressing hard towards me for solutions how to generate money without crediting the candidate the opportunity and asking the candidate to do their work for them for free.

The interview process for creative positions is challenging. Throughout our hiring process, we feel the best way to gauge whether or not a candidate is a good fit for our culture and workflow is to ask for a sample project demonstrating their ability level to research, create, and produce a sample promotion under a tight deadline. We don’t expect perfection in this sample. However, we can see from this exercise the type of thought process a candidate brings to the table. We also ask candidates to explain their creative thought process in our interviews along with finding out if a candidate is a good fit for our culture. Communication is one of our Core Values and this gives us a chance to interact with the candidate and vice versa to ensure that there would be a good working synergy. We have found that this interviewing process is the most efficient. We have no intention to mine candidates for ideas we can use without hiring them, it is simply an assessment used in the hiring process. In fact, for each position in our Company there is some sort of a hands on assessment and we credit this aspect of the interview to helping us identify top talent making us a Tampa Bay Best Place to work. As I’m sure you can appreciate a resume alone does not demonstrate someone’s creative thinking, communication skills, etc. We are sorry you misconstrued the vetting process and while we do not agree with your perception and statements you have made, we do value your feedback and thank you for sharing it. We wish you the best of success in your career endeavors.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vantagepoint ai (Wesley Chapel, FL) in Apr 2019

      Interview

I interviewed with Vantagepoint software and had two interviews for a marketing specialist position. In the initial interview I met with the President and we discussed my background, the company, the requirements of the job and specifically what the company does. The President was very professional and cordial. He asked a lot of questions about me, my likes and dislikes, my skills. It was clear to me that he was interested in being thorough and making sure I was a good match for his company. He also was very open about any and all questions I had, which was very refreshing. The first interview seemed like he was trying to get to know me better and find out more about my skills. As we closed the first interview he provided me with an assignment to create a small promotional campaign and landing page to promote the software the company sells. He asked me to study the company website and do my best to create a campaign based from that initial research. I asked him several questions about this to make sure I understood the assignment. I also scheduled a second interview in a few days where I would explain my campaign to him, and several managers of the company. I was also told that the development and production of these promotional campaigns were a means of them evaluating my skills and would be something that I would be engaged in regularly if I were to become an employee. The assignment was challenging but not overly difficult. It took me a few hours from start to finish. It required me to think long and hard about how to concisely and effectively create a promotion that would offer value and entice a prospect to raise their hand and show that they were interested in learning more. The hardest part of the assignment was creating a compelling headline. After I did that, the rest of the assignment pretty much wrote itself. I tried to teach myself as much as possible about their product from studying their website and really thought long and hard about unique ways to position it for an audience. At the second interview, I met with the several managers of the company and shared my campaign, headline, landing page and copywriting. We spent about 45 minutes discussing what they liked and they asked questions about my campaign structure and presentation. Everybody was very professional and friendly. There was on occasion some good humored playfulness thrown in which created a very relaxed environment for all to participate. I enjoyed my meeting with all of the managers and felt very comfortable in answering all of their questions. Since I did not have a lot of familiarity with their product, they were not looking for a FINAL work but rather were most interested in seeing how I would respond to suggestions or questions on what I had produced. Their questions and comments showed me that my campaign was on the right track, and they simply wanted to see how I might adapt and change my promotion if other factors or understanding were introduced. We discussed their demographic, language, messaging, color choices, layout. Overall, I enjoyed the meeting and felt that I was communicating with peers whom I would enjoy working with. I found the company to be very cool and it looks like they have a really cool artificial intelligence software product that helps investors and traders make better trading decisions. I am hoping for an offer and think it would be a great company to work for. I think they have a very interesting product which helps traders and investors make decisions better.
