The interview process for creative positions is challenging. Throughout our hiring process, we feel the best way to gauge whether or not a candidate is a good fit for our culture and workflow is to ask for a sample project demonstrating their ability level to research, create, and produce a sample promotion under a tight deadline. We don’t expect perfection in this sample. However, we can see from this exercise the type of thought process a candidate brings to the table. We also ask candidates to explain their creative thought process in our interviews along with finding out if a candidate is a good fit for our culture. Communication is one of our Core Values and this gives us a chance to interact with the candidate and vice versa to ensure that there would be a good working synergy. We have found that this interviewing process is the most efficient. We have no intention to mine candidates for ideas we can use without hiring them, it is simply an assessment used in the hiring process. In fact, for each position in our Company there is some sort of a hands on assessment and we credit this aspect of the interview to helping us identify top talent making us a Tampa Bay Best Place to work. As I’m sure you can appreciate a resume alone does not demonstrate someone’s creative thinking, communication skills, etc. We are sorry you misconstrued the vetting process and while we do not agree with your perception and statements you have made, we do value your feedback and thank you for sharing it. We wish you the best of success in your career endeavors.
