Brief call with a recruiter, checking relocation status, salary requirements, former roles, and experience. Concluded, the salary range too low for the role and my experience. Recruiter moved me onto the hiring manager with concerns for total costs. The hiring manager asked questions regarding P&L experience, leadership skills etc told me that I was a very good fit, and had a hard to find background and combination of experience they needed. Weeks and months passed, followed up, they moved me onto division VP interview. He asked leadership questions regarding hiring and managing difficult situations. It went well, and let me know they would follow -up. Two weeks later, after I followed up, I was told that they have one internal candidate and one local but still wanted to "stay in touch." My guess is that they delayed me until they could convince someone internally to apply and find at least one local candidate so to reduce salary and relocation costs. Way too long a process, way to much concern for costs, less concern about the experience and fit. Glassdoor reviews seem to be accurate in this case, move onto other opportunities.
