I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Viasat in Nov 2011
Interview
Positives: Interview consisted of basic questions involving my work history and schooling. Nothing technical questioned, but it was by an HR rep and not the engineering department. Wanted to know what I knew about the company.
Negatives: Not a terribly negative experience, but there were some areas for improvement. Interview was on speaker phone and interviewer was incessantly typing on a keyboard loudly the entire time. Was questioned immediately about desired pay without opportunity to provide a negotiation. What should one expect in pay without knowing more about what is expected time wise and what other benefits may be provided? They may have had someone else in mind and were shopping around for a better deal.
