Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter who used to work for my current company Rackspace. I'd heard some good things about the company, so agreed to an interview. The recruiter set up the interview and off I went. That whole process took about a week.
The manager that interviewed me also a former Rackspace employee. Oddly enough, all the questions he asked me were verbatim to my Rackspace interview. One thing he really couldn't stop hitting on was why I wanted to leave Rackspace. Frankly, I was confused, as they had contacted me. I was there because they asked me to be.
The manager also had a tech there and they would go back and forth between a technical question and a team question. At least the technical questions were mostly different from Rackspace's.
I never heard back - there was zero follow-up. But honestly I left there thinking that if they want to be like the company I currently work for, then why would I ever want to leave? Thank you WP Engine for confirming that Rackspace is a great place to work!

Interview
The first step was a phone interview. I rec'd the request 2 days after submitting my app online. Person obviously didn't look at my resume before calling was really apparent early on. So, I made sure early on to politely point out my technical qualifications and previous positions to save time. They hire for personality and culture fit and are looking for positive team players. Boring standard interview questions. They did make sure I knew about WP Engine and their culture.
Second step a few days later I had an in-person interview. Met with an office manager then with two front line managers. Standard questions, again I stated my qualifications early on but they'd actually read my resume which is good. So, they focused on whether I'd be a good fit for their team, what the job entails, etc. more than say explain the use of octals in a chmod command type questions.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at WP Engine (Limerick, Limerick) in Aug 2018
Interview
Brief phone screening, followed by an online technical assessment (this was timed and your screen was monitored incase you looked up the answers), followed by 4 concurrent interviews on the same day (took about 2 hours in total).
Interviewers are all very kind and patient.
Hiring team are inconsistent - want people with tech background, but also say that they will provide training on everything needed for the right person (who doesn’t have a background in tech)? But they also require a technical assessment and technical interview. I found their hiring process to be confusing quite honestly.

Interview
Really thorough interview process. Great experience and interesting people. Varied questions on customer service and tech questions related to Wordpress. They expect you to be very passionate about same. Also lots of role play type scenarios.
