      Cloud Security Architect Interview

      Jul 30, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Wellington, Wellington
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Xero (Wellington, Wellington) in Jul 2016

      Interview

The interview went well enough (over Google Hangouts), although the interviewers seemed stuck on my previous role (18 months), which didn't really relate to the role for which I was being interviewed. I told them that other roles related better, although they didn't ask me about them. The next stage was a technical interview, I was told. I got a call from the HR lady the next day. Despite having been asked almost no technical questions -- and certainly not being asked for any technical answers -- she told me that the interviewers said that I wasn't technical enough. She also had the audacity to say that the interviewers thought that I was better suited do a risk and compliance role, despite over 10 years' previous experience in technical roles. Poor interviewing, Xero. I expected more. If you wanted technical answers, then ask technical questions.
