Interview
I received an email from the manager with five prompts requiring an essay for each prompt before I could even speak to the manager on the phone. Six pages and a budget spreadsheet later, I completed the prompts and sent it back. The manager thanked me for my submission and said they would be in touch. I never heard from them again, this essay was a complete waste of my time.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Yelp
Interview
I had a phone interview with Yelp. I was not impressed with the turnaround time to hear back from the recruiter, it took her several days to respond to emails so it was difficult to plan a date to speak. The actual phone interview went well, I was asked a lot of good questions and told about the culture and engineering department at Yelp. It went well and I was given a writing exercise to complete. It was a sample interview email to a candidate, a day of recruiting events for Stanford Engineering, and listing the ways that Yelp engineering is superior to Facebook or Twitter engineering.
