      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zendesk (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Multiple rounds of interviews. Great communication from the recruiter. Some miscommunication around the technical assignment logistics but everyone was flexible and made it work. The only downside for the process was that it was very difficult to communicate via phone due to the phone connection. Problems still existed after switching to a landline on my end.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Fairly standard questions, nothing out of left field. Be prepared to talk about your past accomplishments and what you will bring to the table.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zendesk (Madison, WI)

      Interview

Highly positive interview process. There was a bit of an HR hiccup at the beginning (they were only hiring for one position but accidentally posted two), so I applied for two positions but they ended up interviewing me for the higher-up position (and they apologized for the issue). Was called by an interviewer, who asked me a few simple questions about my previous work history. Then, about a day or two later, I was called for an in-person interview. In-person interview was relatively informal - good, direct questions which were not overly difficult to answer but also provided them with the information THEY needed while not making me feel pressured. Ample time for questions (and I asked a LOT of questions) and they were happy to answer the majority of them! Was told I would hear back relatively quickly and within 2-3 days was called about another phone interview - this time with a higher-level employee (a Global Manager). I was actually taking a trip that week but we found a time for us to talk - she was very nice and receptive. That phone interview was more about the overall goals of the company and how my position would fit in. Finally, after only about a two-week period in which the interviews went through, it was about another week to week and a half after that when I was contacted and given an offer (which I was able to accept within an hour). Overall the process was relatively effective though the HR stuff took some time (background check definitely took the longest and was the major cause of the week between interviews & offer). That being said, this was definitely the WARMEST group of people I've ever had the opportunity to interview with... people were very welcoming of questions and highly encouraged inquiries about the job/company throughout the whole interview process. Would love the chance to interview all over again!

      Question 1

I believe at one point I was asked "Give me a song that describes your work philosophy/work history".
