I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at athenahealth (Watertown, MA) in Feb 2015
Interview
I applied at the career fair on campus. First there was an on campus interview with a developer. They asked a question from cracking the coding interview. The question was fairly challenging for an initial screening but I did well in comparison to others (I talked to the person that interviewed me later). Then there was an onsite interview. There were two interviews, a culture fit interview with a senior management or architect, and a technical interview with a developer. The technical interview portion had you solve a problem on a white board then code it up and run it on your own computer. You could use any language and look up stuff you didn't know online. You then ran the code against test inputs and the results were verified. It's important to have excellent implementation in whatever language you choose.

Question 1
Problem:
Say you are playing a game where after each round there’s three options. You can either score 0,1 or 2 points. The probability of scoring 0 points is 50%, the probability of scoring 1 point is 30% and the probability of scoring 2 points is 20%.
Part 1:
What’s the probability of each possible score after 5 rounds?
Given the probabilities of scoring each point as follows:
P[0] = .5
P[1] = .3
P[2] = .2
Part 2:
Give the top 10 most likely scores after N rounds.
Part 3:
Give the top 10 most likely scores for any probability distribution.

Interview
Recruiter was super nice. 1 60min HackerRank + 1 with manager. The technical round was not stressful by any means, and I had a few hint on how to do it. The conversation with the manager was very enjoyable to say the least.
