This is from an applicant whose nominally 30-minute screening call ended after 36 seconds on August 29 per my phone records. Indeed, my first question is always "why are you interested?" (not phrased as the applicant claims in the above review) and that caught this applicant off-guard because they did not at all prepare for the screening call which they booked, and didn't know what position/company I was calling about, which I use as a heuristic for work ethic and immediate abortion of the hiring process. Certainly 36 seconds was not enough time to get to ask about salary expectations (question #4 or so), which all of our software engineering postings have presumed to be >$100k/yr.
I try to give direct feedback to unsuitable candidates about why they are unsuitable for our hiring goals, so that they can self-adapt if they so desire, but unfortunately with a very strict screening/hiring process and >100 rejected candidates per hire, even a tiny percentage of these rejected candidates taking personal offense when hearing why it's not a fit apparently results in these kinds of posts from time to time that contain exaggerated/false information. If you are a candidate or glassdoor employee interested in this matter of negative reviews with exaggerated/false information, please email me at victor at care dot coach -- as of the date of this post I have multiple layers of evidence for every negative review that confidently points to a specific failed screening call as the source of the applicant frustration being vented here.
