They asked me if I'd ever temporarily move out of the country and still expect to have my job...
They asked detailed questions about my understanding of the technology. This was not unexpected, but I got the impression they wanted me to have a strong aptitude for technology--not just an ability to write about it, but a love of learning it and an ability to understand it well.
Most asked a lot of "tell me about a time when..." and "what's an example of..."
Why would you fit into their corporate climate (they tell you nobody leaves once they get hired, but a little research shows high job turnover, esp. in the writing team). Such incongruities undermined the interview for me. Perhaps it would be your cup of tea. I don't sense corroboration or collegiate work ethic.
Not so much a single question as a debate regarding design pattern choices and implementation details.
There were many difficult questions that I believe were put in place to test an individuals ability to research, but one of the most unexpected situations that came up was a simulation that was given to remotely connect to a server (from a laptop that was provided) and troubleshoot some network communication issue that the server was having (between it and a few of its hosts). Unfortunately, not all packages necessary to complete the task were installed on the server machine (which didn't have internet access).
Asked several questions about instances where I had disagreed with others and how I'd handled it.
Interviewer asked me to reschedule the interview to another day because he had too much going on...of course that was after I had called him because we had a set interview time...He had completely forgotten.
