It also owns and operates five broadcast TV stations in Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, as well as cable television systems serving subscribers in Toledo and Sandusky, Ohio. Its Buckeye TeleSystem provides telephony services in the Toledo market. Block family patriarch Paul Block started the family fortune when he acquired The Blade in 1926.
