Pros

The tech is simple to understand. People are generally quite nice. WFH and regular days off are a plus.

Cons

The sales team is so confused in their direction. Changes are constant, that can be expected for any startup but these changes are bringing the team from bad to worse. Several senior people on the team have left due to very poor people management. The company has apparently abandoned the net new sales motion to focus on expansion. Historically net new sales have accounted for the majority of the company's revenue whereas expansion has been an after thought. Needless to say you're setup for failure of you work in sales here.

Mixed Feelings

Business Outlook

Pros

Fully remote, decent flexibility with schedule, solid benefits, leader in the space.

Cons

There is a high degree of nepotism. Leaders are either bringing in their friends, even if they are not experienced enough, and a lot of the managers in the GTM team have very little experience actually managing. Majority of the team do not hit their quotas. And it's not market conditions either as it's been like this for the past four years. The product is at an enterprise level. The team as a whole isn't experienced enough to be selling in the enterprise sphere. It's a toxic atmosphere that's only getting worse. If you ever question anything you'll lose favor with leadership and be on the chopping block. I've seen three colleagues let go after voicing their opinion. The most shocking aspect is that a number of my colleagues give incorrect information and have very little knowledge of the product. No one seems to care. In fact two people who gave out incorrect information numerous times got promotions.

Toxicity runs deep

Pros

- Fully remote - Working on a great product

Cons

- Toxic culture and bullying which starts from the top With the caveat that this is a couple of years old now, I can see from recent reviews that the issues still run deep. Interesting to see the word toxicity evident which matches my experience. The deep-seated problem is a mistrust of new people that the minority of old-guard at the company seem to struggle to place trust in. But worst for me is the bullying that is allowed to thrive from the very top, and from technical people towards other parts of the business. If you're not an engineer, or one of the first 50 employees, your opinion isn't valid. The founders are not above public dressing-downs of non-engineers, while engineers can apparently do no wrong. In my 20-year career, nowhere have I seen members of staff reduced to tears so frequently. And it sets a terrible norm which, unfortunately, others in the business pick up on. Outside of engineering, only compliant sheep are likely to make career progress. A very poor record on diversity and inclusion in my time there. Lots of noise but no action.
