There are too many to list. The leadership values kindness and transparency, and for the first time in my career I've seen a company practice those two things, even when it's not convenient. They value their employees, they listen when people have concerns, and they have honest conversations even when they're hard. On a practical level, the pay is generally good (though it's not Google, and that's okay), the benefits are decent (not the best and not the worst, I'd say middle-ish), and the people are the reason you want to work here. So many smart, kind, and just great people. I love it here and it's been 1+ year, so the honeymoon phase should be over. Lastly, I work for the best boss I've ever had. No question, hands down. And I feel like my opinion is valued and heard, and disagreement and differing opinions are encourage. Apply apply apply! It's a great place to work.

Cons

Would like to see more diverse colleagues, especially in Engineering. Published pay bands and equal compensation whether you're in Canada or the U.S. (right now, U.S. employees make more than Canadian employees in the same role, irrespective of the exchange).

Overlooked hidden gem of the Canadian tech scene

One of the best environments I’ve worked at in my career so far. 1Password’s career page says that kindness is a necessity and its true. Everyone you work with is extremely nice and the internal culture is very inclusive and empathetic. The company is still early in its product roadmap and this space is due for significant growth in the future still so it is really an exciting place to be at this time. Other pros: -Flexible remote first environment -One of the smoothest onboarding processes and good internal documentation. Its clear the company has been remote first from inception -Frequent company wide wellness days -Options grants had generous vesting period and strike price -Feel like you work on things to actually ship rather than busy work you don't see the end impact of

Cons

- Never a lack of things to do and most teams are results focused which can be a change if you come from more slow-moving legacy companies where timelines might be 2-3x as long to get things done - Vacation time is still less than some other companies - Company match on savings is on the low end

Teams in the tech org are heavy siloed, and there is an astonishing lack of synergy and organization between teams and projects. There is little thought given to inter-team dependencies in the planning phase which leads to delays and general confusion over who owns what. Projects and teams are constantly shifting, lack identity and have an overall air of purely top down planning with little input from the ICs trying to make progress the best they can. Overall all, it's hard to recommend.
