Pros

Good working environment. Learned a lot about ordering and forecasting. Lots of room to advance. Most managers are understanding about personal needs and would work with me with scheduling.

Cons

Sometimes I felt like I was the only one really trying my hardest to make the store look great. Some managers expected too much from me. I would be the only one working at the store and I would be asked to clean entire store, do orders (usually 300-500 items), outside trash, stock coolers, fill ice, fill cigarettes and do cigarette count all in 8hrs by myself.

Pros

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING positive about this company!

Cons

Mass layoffs while CEO gets raises and a 7-figure annual salary. Store employees are overworked and underpaid. My co-worker's husband was a store manager and suffered 2 heart attacks due to stress on the job (managers are expected 60+ hrs/wk as salaried employees which equates to less than minimum wage if they were hourly). There was a sales associate that had been with the company over 20 years and was STILL making just above minimum wage! I don't know how 7-Eleven constantly gets away with breaking labor laws.

Pros

High volume stores keep you busy. There is always something to do with new people to meet everyday. If you focus on completing training courses, you can advance and get raises quickly.

Cons

If your store is bought by a franchisee, there is a chance that you may not want to stay or they may not want to keep you. Franchisees also operate differently than corporate stores when it comes to benefits, pay, and diversity.
