      Pros

      On the job training & development - print, online, hands-on and peer training as a basis of each employees training. Helpful management & sales support - management and sales teams to ensure your continued development. Excellent Benefit Package including Medical & Life Insurance, 401K, employee discount. Travel Opportunities- as a Field Operations Manager you have the ability to travel within your region or nationwide. I have had the opportunity to work in a half dozen stores across the north-east and have learned aspects of the lumber & home materials industry from each of the management teams at each of those locations. The ability to learn from so many individuals is allowing me to be knowledgeable and confident so that I can give outstanding customer service to homeowners and the professional contractor. Nationwide organization that offers opportunities for career advancement and relocation.

      Cons

      Starting base-pay is a bit low for someone with two decades of management experience, but the in-depth training and opportunities for advancement including co-manager, sales, warehouse supervisor, transportation dispatcher and corporate positions exceeds the starting financials.

Our shift times are a bit longer than those of other fields, but our associates are properly compensated for their time.       Pros

      Some of the pros to being with 84 Lumber are that the staff is very welcoming and helpful, its a great balance of working in and outdoors, there is room for growth if you have the drive, and one of my favorite pros would have to be the WBE program, which is our Woman-owned Bussiness Enterprise, being one of the only women to represent the state of NC is very exciting and I can't wait to this this program grow!

      A great company to work for.

      Pros

      Between both times working for 84 Lumber I have 5 years with the company. Definitely have way more support for the team than any other company. It is a family atmosphere when you work there. 84 Lumber in the past few years has been growing internally to help the front line associate’s. Being in a department in which I get to see a lot of our stores helps me realize how much help is available. The stores are all different not one is the exact same. Based on the location and the building that is going on in there area.

      There is no Con’s. You get what you put into the company.
