Pros

You get access to some of the best cancer research and the brightest scientists. You also get the opportunity to shape the conversation around cancer public policy.

Cons

There was a lot of turnover while I was there. I was directly harassed, abused, and gas-lighted by my supervisor. She would give contradictory directions, scream at me constantly, and undercut other employees. The head of the office was not often present and not aware of what was going on, though my coworkers were. HR defended my supervisor and coerced me into resigning. My supervisor has since left, but the toxic environment that allowed this harassment to occur is still present. The CEO is also petty and very insecure. She creates a corporate culture of mistrust, anxiety, and lack of accountability.

Pros

I genuinely enjoy working for the AACR, my Director is A++ the CEO is Amazing, the people are very professional but above all the cause (Cancer Research) for working here is truly rewarding and humbling.

Cons

Of course I wish the pay was better but due to this company being a non-profit, it is expected.
