Important, community serving work, good peer-to-peer collegiality with many colleagues

Cons

Low-trust & therefore low performing internal culture. "Kiss up kick down" is common & the cultural norm. Culture of institutional boosterism & unwillingness to have hard conversations (unless they are solely focused downward).

Pros

Great mission to serve students and get people much need education at a reasonable cost.

Cons

ACC has entered into a period of time where it's senior leadership is no longer held to or expected to follow ACCs own polices and procedures. Promotions are random, not based on job performance, contractors are being brought in to be Directors (where full time employees now report to that contractor), jobs are being outsourced. The leadership is acting very similarly to what was happening at a major computer manufacture in the Austin area in the early 2000s.
