Awful company to work for

Pros

The staff was wonderful. ACCEL had several gatherings to celebrate teachers and promote camaraderie with local schools.

Cons

Underpaid and overworked. The staff was amazing, but the principal was new and was unable to control the students. Students that were referred to the office for vile behavior would return with suckers... Seriously. Students physically assaulted teachers (myself included) on multiple occasions and nothing was done. Completed a PD and was assured that I would be reimbursed, but after submitting my information I was told they were working on it. Months passed by and I finally contacted the superintendent and he told me it was NOT in my contract, but was offered through our payroll system, INSPERITY. At that point the 45 day window had closed and I was out of a few hundred dollars. Despite having emails to prove that the management including the principal, HR, and the Director of Assessment were emailing me back saying they were working on it, it was not enough to get my money. I feel as though this company does the least amount to help their staff and does not care about safety or know how to run this company.

Pros

Working with the students is the best thing and schedule.

My family has been working for ACCEL for 12+ years and as soon as I graduated high school, I went to school and had been working full time at ACCEL. This place is not only very dirty as a building but they are also very dirty people working there. If you don't have a degree in anything like therapy, buisness or management, or even teaching your frowned upon. Therapists walk all over you and are very rude to Paras. HR department are also very rude. For example, they won't talk to you unless you are being called from them. Not only that but even the front office lady is very rude! Paras are looked down on by everyone at this company. The paras should have more respect because they do more for the kids then the teachers do. There is a lot of drama here from mostly the HR department and the therapy department. A few months ago we actually had a meeting with the CEO of the company asking us to find more people to work for this company because they are loosing employees. I wonder why.

Pros

There are no pros for this company!

Cons

No one communicates, they don't follow their own handbook and regulations. This company will switch policies and procedures in the middle of the year and you just happen to find out. They are very good by bypassing chain of command and doing what they feel. Promotion is based off of if they like you and not your qualifications to do the job. They also do not value their employees at all!
